Common fixes

  • The panel isn't in the + menu. Run the installer again, then fully restart Houdini. It needs to find your Documents\houdiniXX.X folder.
  • My AI app says Houdini isn't reachable. Keep the Magician AI Assist panel open in Houdini; the bridge at the bottom of the panel should be running. Press Start AI app bridge if it isn't.
  • Claude Desktop doesn't show the houdini tools. Quit it fully from the system tray, not just the window, then open it again.
  • ChatGPT can't see Houdini. Use Codex inside the ChatGPT desktop app. The regular chat can't connect to programs on your PC.
  • Google Antigravity keeps asking permission. Choose always allow for the houdini tools. If the tools don't appear at all, make sure you chose Trust for the houdini_ai_workspace folder.
  • A local model stops halfway in Create mode. That's a limit of smaller models. Use it for Chat mode, or try a larger model.
